What kind of Dress do I wear to a wedding especially if I want to be dressed to kill?

I have been dating this Marine for about 2 months, and we have fallen so deeply head over heels for one another that he has asked me to come to one his close friends wedding with him July 1, and he is probably going to wear his uniform. I think he wants to show me off to all his close marine friends, I mean he is going to have friends there from all over the US..people he has known forever...I want to be dressed to kill..I want him to happily introduce me to all his friends...What colors do you wear to a wedding? Do I wear a long dress or a short dress? An evening gown or a prom dress? I dont go to very many weddings... so Im really stumped on this. I would really appreciate any help on this, or if anyone knows of any great websites that would be great? btw ..is black or red dress approiate...Do I get my hair done...I just want to look stunning for him...

If possible, find out what color the wedding party will be dressed in (sometimes the invitations will give you a clue) - avoid wearing white or the color of the wedding party. If the wedding is indoors and formal, you will be okay with an evening gown type dress. If it is outdoors and kind of informal (typical for a July 1 date), wear something bright, cute and 'flowy' with sandals with a little heel. Most importantly, wear a smile! Good luck.
